What a half term Year 3 have had! From visits to walks, zoos to investigations, we have lots of exciting things to share.
Early on in the term we had a visit from Mrs Cone. As part of our geography unit we studied our local area and the history of Trimley St Martin primary school. Mrs Cone is 93 and used to attend the school. The class prepared lots of questions for her to answer. We enjoyed listening to her stories and particularly enjoyed finding out about the punishments they used to have – including the cane!
Another event from last term that was very much enjoyed was our zoo! As part of our maths we had to work out all the costings behind the opening of our very own zoo. On the opening day, the Year 6’s came for a visit to see all the animals that we had found for our exhibits. The Year 6’s not only came to view our zoo but many taught us new things including multiplication methods and pie charts!
As part of our RE day Edison held their very own wedding. In addition to a bride and groom, we had bridesmaids, hymns, readings, a vicar and even a cake! The parents who came along were very impressed and much like a real wedding there were even a few tears during the service!
