First of all, my apologies, I meant to put a notice up on the last day of term, bit it completely slipped my mind.
Many thanks to all those parents who have volunteered to accompany us on our visit to Tesco's on Wednesday 7th June (the first Wednesday back),
Names were picked out of a hat, and the parents who will be accompanying us are:

Ellie's Mum
Samuel's Mum
William's Mum
Matthew's Mum
Rose's Mum.

I will also put these names on a notice and put on the Reception class door.
I will make sure I put Colchester zoo names up in plenty of time! 

 On Thursday Howie's Mummy, Gayle kindly  came into to help us with our cooking. On the menu this week was.....cheese scones.....

Today, we had a visit from Kimmy, Chelsea and Chantelle from Kimmy's mobile zoo. They bought with them some fascinating animals,,,,,some furry, some slimy and some wriggly!

As we have been learning about Desert animals, linked with out current Disney story 'Aladdin', Miss Rushbrooke asked the ladies to bring some desert - type  animals with them. So the animals they brought were:
- Meerkats
- A Pygmy Hedgehog
- An Armadillo
- A Bearded Dragon
- A Python
- A Leopard Gecko
- A Hissing Cockroach
- A Millipede

Kimmy told us a little bit of information about each of the animals, and how to touch them safely - we listened carefully and then the ladies bought the animals around the circle for us to stroke.

We all really enjoyed looking at all the different animals as many of us had not ever seen some of the animals before. All the animals were fantastic, but our favourites were the Meerkats and the Python. 

We learnt a lot about these Desert animals and had lots of fun. We would like to say a huge THANK-YOU to Kimmy, Chelsea and Chantelle for coming to visit us with the animals!

WOW! What fantastic Star Wars characters, Superhero's and Princess's we had in Hughes class today!
All the children looked FANTASTIC and had all made a super effort - in fact to begin with the adults in Early Years had a little trouble working out which children were behind the masks!

Along with the fantastic costumes and dressing-up, we were overwhelmed with rather yummy cakes which the children (and parents!) had been busy making, ready to sell at the PTA fete along with the very kind donations of teddy bears!.

A big THANK-YOU and WELL DONE to both the children and parents, grandparents etc of hughes class for all of your kind, creative and hard work today!
