I had heard from my colleagues at school that 'your first class are always special' and that could not be more true!
It was so lovely reading all the lovely words in cards, opening all the overwhelming and thoughtful gifts the children and yourselves had so kindly gifted me, Mrs Rushbrooke also sends her thanks for her gifts and kind words.
So.....I understand that you all knew what was about to happen in the afternoon before I did!
I had to meet with Mrs Ross to 'sign me off' as an NQT....little did i know the real reason behind the 'meeting'.
I came back to the classroom, to be blindfolded at the door and taken into our garden....once the blindfold was removed there in a line stood the children.each holding a letter which made up
'Miss Rushbrooke, will you marry me?'.....I then turned to see my partner Adam, down on one knee!...and obviously my answer was yes!
Without getting too soppy....Adam knows me better than i thought, as it was done in the most special and perfect way.....he knows how special the children are to me, and he wanted to incorporate them in some way.
I am still in a daze, but feel so blessed that the children were part of such a special event in my life!
I did give all the children a hug and thanked them for helping Adam, but send my thanks to them again, and to yourselves for your very kind well-wishes! Again, Mrs Rushbrookes wishes to thank the children for their help in the surprise!
Have a lovely summer!
