It was raining lots today but that didn't stop us having fun in the Wild wood! 😁 We made dens to help us shelter from the rain and even played in the chicken coup!

We used 5 frames to compare different objects. We had to use the language "bigger or larger or more" and "smaller or less". We also practised subitising (recognising quantities without counting). Great use of the learning gems:
Some children enjoyed blowing bubbles using straws and fairy liquid. The activity was planned to support a child who needed breath work practise. However, it was so popular that lots of others came to join in! Great use of the learning gems:
Today in Phonics we looked at matching rhyming pictures. The children were able to peg the correct matching picture. Well done everyone! 😊 Great use of the learning gems:
We are so lucky in Reception we usually have milk and biscuit each afternoon. But Helen our cook made us delicious cake today! 😋😁
This week in Phonics we have been naming instruments, discussing and distinguishing between the sounds they make. We've also been experimenting with the volume and speed in which we play in instruments. We played several games to help us such as "Guess the instrument" and using the instruments and noise clues to find Gerald the giraffe (who was hidden!). Well done Reception you have used these learning gems:
We had such a busy day in the Wild Wood! We made hedgehogs out of pine cones and playdoh. We also looked at colour matching objects in the Wild Wood. We created beautiful works of art by rolling pine cones in a tray with paint. We discussed how the colours mixed together to make beautiful new colours. We also had lots of fun building dens, making mud pies, threading leaves, looking at eggs... there really is so much to explore! Well done Reception, you have used so many learning gems whilst exploring in the Wild Wood:
The children have explored colour mixing and creating different textures by using a range of objects to print. Well done Donaldson class, the art work looks beautiful! |
