A big well done and thank-you!

I can't quite believe that Christmas is here, and that the children have completed their first term at school!
Every single one of the children has made fantastic progress since starting school back in September and we are very proud of them all!
We would also like to say thank-you to both yourselves and the children for our lovely Christmas cards and gifts.
We wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year....see you all in 2018!

ITS PARTY TIME!

Apologies if we sent your children home as high as kites! They had a lovely afternoon full of party games, party food and 'Christmassy' fun!

....and the mints grew into?

After 'planting' out mints in the sand, and leaving them overnight for the magic to happen....Candy Canes grew! and the children found Sam elf sitting in the sand box, surrounded by them!
Sam elf also left us a 'good-bye' letter, explaining that he had, had lots of fun, but now he needed to go back to the North Pole (to help Santa load up his sleigh we think!), and that he would see us next year!
As it was Sam's last day with us, the children were allowed to give him a hug goodbye.
Bye-Bye until next year Sam Elf! x

planting mints?!

This afternoon, we thought Miss Rushbrooke and Sam elf had gone a little crazy! They wanted us to plant some of those little white mints in sand. Miss Rushbrooke told us that her friends elf, Twinkle, had planted some mints and overnight, they had magically grown into something special. Miss Rushbrooke didn't tell us what, but we all had a good guess at what we thought they might turn into. Our guesses ranged from 'Mint plants' to 'Elephants' and 'Giants' (after that guess we think Miss Rushbrooke is a bit worried about coming into the classroom in the morning).
We are just going to have to wait and see if any of our guesses were correct.....watch this space!

Snowflake sam

This morning when the children came into school, they found Sam elf had been making snowflakes - some of the children then had a go at making their own.

It was quite clear that Sam elf had been up to mischief again on Friday morning! All the children could see when they entered the classroom was a very long trail of toilet paper across the floor, and a smiling Sam rolled up at the end of it!

homework and bags

Christmas 'Homework' will be put in the children's bookbags on Monday, along with their changed reading books for the holidays. Therefore, there will be no need for the children to bring their book bags into school on Tuesday (just party clothes).I will put a reminder up on the classroom door on Monday.

Christmas Party

Thank you to those who have kindly signed up to bring food or drink in for our Christmas Party on Tuesday....there are still some spaces on the list....:)

Party Clothes - The children may bring in some Party Clothes to change into AFTER lunch, ready for our class Christmas party.

clever sam!

As the children cam and sat on the carpet this morning, they noticed that somebody else was already there- Sam elf. Sam had helped himself to the Multilink box in the Maths Area, and had spelt out his name in cubes. He had also left the box out for the children to have a go at spelling their own names out too!

Miss Rushbrooke was not very happy when the children came and told her what Sam elf had been up to this morning! He had made rather a mess in the Maths Area. We think that he may of been trying to sort the elephants and bears into the sorting trays......but got in a muddle, or rather a mess!
