We've had another busy but fun fuelled week in class hughes this week! It started on Tuesday with the Christmas workshop afternoon, which was attended by many parents, as well as Grandparents, Aunties, Uncles siblings etc. It was lovely to see everyone in the christmas spirit and working with the children to create some fantastic items.

Wednesday, we enjoyed the super yummy christmas lunch - Thenk-you to the ladies in the kitchen and Midday Supervisors. We were all rather stuffed afterwards, and judging by the clean plates and lunch round their mouths, on clothes etc the children really enjouyed it.

Also on Wednesday afternoon, we took part in the 'Mannequin challenge'-  Im sure many of you will of seen the videos doing their rounds on social media of people freezing in different positions, and Mrs Ross challenged each class to do the same.
We watched a couple of videos first to get an idea of what we needed to do, then we practised ourselves so we were aware of what to do when Mrs Ross came in and shouted 'Mannequin' with her camera. On Thursday afternoon, many of you came along to the Christmas fair to purchase some of the christmas items you had help your child/ren create. Again, it was great to see lots of you coming to support your children and the school. We made a healthy total - and money is still coming in!

Today, we had Paul from Martlesham Tesco come to visit us. He spoke to us about the history of Gingerbread, where it comes from and the different ways we use ginger today. He also bought along some Gingerbread men for us to decorate - we had lots of fun being creative with the icing and sweets - and a little bit sticky too! So Thank-you very much Paul!

First of all, I apologise that the children's reading books have not been changed as often as usual this week, but I hope you will understand that we have been very busy wilth Nativity reherslals and have also had a shortage of staff.

Thank-you to those of you who have supported your child with their homework. This will now be given out each Friday, to then be completed and handed in by the following Thursday. The homework will focus mainly on phonics, but may occasionally include some Maths work.

...and finally, a huge WELL DONE to all the children for a FANTASTIC first Nativity production!
It takes a lot of courage to go up on the stage and perform in front of a large number of people and especially at such a young age! Their singing was beautiful, and their acting and dancing was equally as lovely with added 'awww' factor! I think I can safely say that by the looks on their faces, the smiles and the giggles, they all really enjoyed themselves, and Mrs Rushbrooke and I are very proud of each of them!
