This morning we visited our friend Paul at Tesco Martlesham. We were lucky enough to to go behind the scenes and see where and how our food gets to Tesco. We had a busy morning- * Looking at fruit and vegetables. Can you name something that is neither a fruit or vegetable but can be bought from the produce isle? Find the answer after the photos. * Tasting different cheeses, including cheese made from goats and sheep milk. * Looking at all the fish on the fish counter. * Going into the bakery to see how bread is made. * Having a really tasty snack. Look for the dolphins. Mushrooms
Thank you to our parent helpers today!! Today was all about antennas and feathers. We can all be seen in our finished masks on Thursday 26th May at the
Rio Carnival. Today we have been busy painting our carnival masks. Once they are dry we will be adding our own amazing designs. Keep coming back and you can see how we are getting on.
This week we are reading the book "The Foggy Foggy Forest" by Nick Sharratt in Literacy. Have a listen to the story being cleverly sung. After reading the book we each made our very own shadow characters.
To extend our learning about shapes, we made our very own shape sandwiches. As we made each sandwich we had to use the correct mathematical vocabulary and describe each shape. "A square has 4 equal edges". "A circle has 1 edge". "A rectangle has 2 short and two long edges". So what shape has 5 edges?
Sent home today in Homework folders is a whole class shape challenge. Do you know how many edges a cube has? Can you find any Spheres in your house? Check out the Shape Challenge and learn lots about 2D and 3D shapes as you have fun. A prize for every challenge completed and handed in by Wednesday 25t May 2016.
