Today we talked about how the BBC Children in Need is a charity that helps children all over the UK. We all agreed that children should be able to play, be safe, be happy, healthy and cared for. We recognised that sadly, this doesn’t always happen. We learnt that the BBC Children in Need works hard to help all children smile and that many children’s lives have changed for the better thanks to BBC Children in Need.

This week in Donaldson class we have been learning all about Diwali. We have learnt that Diwali is a very important festival celebrated by many people around the world. It is sometimes called the ‘festival of lights'. We discussed Hinduism and how Hinduism originated in India but we recognised that Hindu people live all over the world. We tried some Indian food and thought it was yummy! We had nann bread, poppadoms, pilau rice, mango chutney and raita dip. We also designed some of our own Rangoli and Mehndi patterns. What a wonderful week of learning Donaldson class! |
