Our friend Paul was on hand to lead the trip and take us all over the store.
On Friday 24th May Class Hughes were lucky enough to visit Tescos in Martlesham. The aim of the trip was to discover how food gets from the farm and onto our forks. Our friend Paul was on hand to lead the trip and take us all over the store. On arrival we were meet with a big smile and a happy welcome. Every child was given a bright yellow tabbard and hat, to help keep us safe as we ventured around the store. We investigated and discovered were the fruit and vegetables are grown before being sent to Tesco's. We got to taste cheese made with cow's, goat's and even sheep milk. Paul took us to the fish counter. He held up and showed us salmon, muscles, scallops, shrimps and a tuna. Half the class then had a snack and drink while the other half went into the bakery where we got to use the jamming machine to fill our very own doughnuts. We even went into the warehouse and the freezer. It was minus 21 degrees. Class Hughes would like to say a huge thank you to Paul for leading such a great trip and the parents who came along to help.

Well done Class Hughes!!!! Joint second in the Trimleyvision song contest. Mrs Ross, Mrs Rushbrooke, Mrs Cumming, Mrs Lawrence,
Mrs Wray and Miss Wright are SERIOUSLY PROUD of you all. Check out Mr Stock's Blog for audio and videos. We used our puppets to retell the story 'The Foggy Foggy Forest'. This time though we had help with the story being told by song. Tomorrow is Trimleyvision, so today we found out a little about Europe. We used a big map on the interactive board to look for and plot countries like- the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy and Sweden. Can you think of more countries that are part of Europe? In this weeks story "The Foggy Foggy Forest", we have already met many shadowy characters. We all had a go at making our own character puppets. Don't forget we all have access to online reading books to share and read at home.
In the back of all our reading record books are our username and password. Have a go at reading your personalised stories and letting us know by leaving any messages in the reading record books, especially if new books need to be added. WWW.BUGCLUB.CO.UK Over the last two weeks we have discovered two very groovy maths songs that are helping us to count. Have a go at home and have as much fun as we do in the classroom. There's only one rule- get up! Sing! Dance! Count! Counting back from 20 to 1. Counting to 100 in tens. A very proud moment when you can show off a medal that dad was given over the weekend.
Starting at Framlingham College the 'Suffolk Sunrise 100' bike ride would have been a sight to behold, setting off with over 1,300 riders. This cycling event helps raise funds for the children’s charity Action Medical Research. With three route options to choose from: the Cool 45 mile route and the more challenging Classic 60 mile and Champion 103 mile routes. A massive well done for completing the Classic 60 mile ride and raising money for charity. Well done Mr Mason. |
