Today we made banana bread! We used an electric whisk to mix the ingredients. And lots of mixing. The children followed instructions beautifully! The children enjoyed the banana bread muffins for their snack this afternoon. 😊
Celebrating 70 years of Queen Elizabeth II on the throne TSM will be holding their own street party and activities on Wednesday 8th June.
Come to school in our 1950s theme, in red, white & blue or as a royal. Join in the fun by bringing in your own royal tea! Individual mini pack up for our street party!! We had a beautiful afternoon in the Wild Wood. We began our session as always discussing what we could see and hear. The children noticed birds singing, the chickens clucking and children playing nearby. Some told me the leaves had turned green because it was summer and that the woods were shady because the trees leaves were blocking the sun. Next, we practised counting reliably and adding values on, using objects found in the wild wood such as sticks and pine cones. Then the children partook in a range of free choice activities including:
We love watching the children explore and enjoy being outdoors. 🥰🌱🌳 Wild Wood Wednesdays are a firm favourite in Donaldson Class!
As part of our transport topic the children made apple boats using apples, honey, rice crispies and cheese. 😀
Today the class had a lovely surprise when their Year 6 buddies gave them beautiful photo frames they had made! 😊 The children loved seeing their buddies and they’re very excited to spend more time with them soon. We all wish Year 6 the best of luck with their SATs next week and we can’t wait to celebrate with them once they’ve finished. 🤩
Today we made fruit kebabs 😄 The children chose which fruit they wanted to use and cut it by themselves. Next, they had to put the fruit onto the kebab sticks- being careful not to stab their hands! Finally, they drizzled melted chocolate onto the fruit kebabs. Then Mrs Lawrence put them in the fridge to set. 😋 We hope everyone enjoys them!
This week the class worked in small groups with Miss Holliman to create these chewy cereal bars. The children had to measure and stir the ingredients. Miss Holliman melted the syrup and the children had to be careful as it was very hot. They then pressed the mixture into a tin and left it to set in the fridge. Some children enjoyed their cereal bar for snack and others took theirs home to share with their families.
Last week, in the Wild Wood the children were so excited to spot five frogs! We have continued to follow their interest of frogs by looking into the life cycle of a frog.
