When we arrived at Tesco, we were all given a s
pecial bib, a clipboard with a worksheet, and a special hat with our name on.
Firstly, Paul led us to the produce section where we ticked off the different fruits and vegetables on our sheet as we spotted them. We also got to try some yummy raspberries!
Next, we moved up to the Deli counters, where Paul told us lots about the different types of cheeses, and we were able to taste some. We tasted Cheddar, Red Leicester, Sheep's cheese and Goat's cheese. We all had a taste of most of the cheeses and really liked them, although the Goat's cheese wasn't so popular!
We then had a look at all the different kinds of fish at the fish counter. Paul showed us a big Salmon, some Oysters, and some Mussels. He told us the Mussels were still alive, and when he sprayed some water on them- their shells closed up!
Next, we split into two groups. One group had some yummy snack whilst the rest of us went into the Bakery to have a look at all the different machines which make bread, rolls and cake. We saw the huge mixing bowl which mixes all the ingredients to make bread, and the big, long ovens where the Baker's cook the bread rolls. The Baker's have to use a long tool called a 'peel' to reach the roll cooking right at the back of the oven. Once the first group had finished in the Bakery, we then swapped over.
Before saying our goodbyes to Paul, he very kindly gave us all a goodie bag!
We all had a fantastic time on our visit to Tesco's and would like to say a HUGE thank-you to Paul!
We would also like to say a big thank-you to Ellie's Mum,Rose's Mum, Matthew's Mum, William's Mum and Samuel's Mum for accompanying us, and for all their help today!
Our final Thank-you goes to Mrs Cumming, Mrs Rushbrooke, Miss Gillings and Miss Reynolds for all their help too!
