This week in our Maths lessons, we have been learning about 2D shapes. In particular about Rectangles, Squares, Triangles and Circles. We have been looking at their 'properties' such as how many sides and corners each shape has. We found that a squares and rectangles are very similiar because they both have 4 sides and 4 corners, but....a rectangle has 2 sides that are longer.
We played a game of '4 corners', in which Miss Rushbrooke pinned a different shape up in each corner of the classroom. She then described its properties, such as 'it has 4 sides the same length', and we had to move to the corner with the shape she was describing.
Then, we had a good go at creating 'human shapes' with our bodies.... we managed to make a triangle, a square, a rectangle and a circle......it was great fun, take a look.......
