| | As part of 'Understanding of the World', children in Class Hughes were given the challenge- 'TO BUILD A BOAT THAT FLOATS' "If it has a hole in it, it will sink"- Joel "It will sink if it gets soggy"- Elissa- referring to cardboard. "If its light it will float"- Krayden After lots of discussion about floating, sinking, heavy & light and what materials may be waterproof, the scene was set for boat making. |
After selecting the materials to be used, there was lots of cutting and sticking and wonderful boats galore!
