Today saw the third group of six children perform their poems to the rest of the class. In Mandela Class we are lucky enough to have Mr Harvey work with us to help a different group (each half term) to learn a poem off by heart and recite it to the rest of the class. This is a skill, which is not only part of the Year 6 expectations for reading, but is also a life skill which prepares the children for High School and beyond. It always amazes me how all different types of children respond to the task and the change which occurs in their confidence and ability in just 6 weeks. They all performed really well, even Mr Harvey who performed his own choice of poem to the class. Well done everyone!

Well done to all the 7 children who have achieved this term's Learning Gem Awards.
It was so difficult to choose as we have all worked so hard on the Learning Gems again this term! After a busy week of Mock SATS we had fun playing the game Bananagrams! It's a great word building game and we are looking forward to having our own class competition to find out who is our 'Top Banana' later in the term!
We have been working hard, to apply the skills learnt and the knowledge acquired from studying different artists, to create a colourful wall hanging. We are very pleased with the results. Dip Dying the FabricDesigning the Wall HangingThe Finished Results:Great use of these Learning Gems: |
