This afternoon, we started science with a game of vocabulary dominoes. The children used the key words related to our electricity topic, taking it in turns to lay a card down in dominoes styles. As they laid their card down, they had to give a reason why their card was related to the card they had put it next to. Here are some of the links they came up with along with the reasons. After this, we chose an enquiry question we would like to explore today, from the questions we wrote at the end of the last week's lesson. First we needed to establish the type of enquiry it was using the branching key. The children were really quick to identify the type of enquiry they were carrying out - most groups were carrying out a fair test and one group had an observation over time to do. The children then predicted what they thought would happen including a reason why, carried out the investigation, drew a bar or line graph (depending on what whether they had collected continuous or discrete data) and then concluded the investigation.
